For a custom animated explainer, mid-market studios like B2W (from $2,400), Wyzowl (from $2,500) and Kasra Design ($5,000 to $10,000). For premium animation or live action, Demo Duck ($16,000+) or Sandwich (about $250,000 to start).

HeroReel

We make concept-led product films of 45 to 60 seconds from a product's URL, for $99, paid once. We write two concepts within a business day, you pick one, and the film arrives within 3 business days with vertical and feed cuts, four covers, captions, embed code and one round of changes. Films are made with AI tools and original music, and a person checks each one before it reaches you.

What we don't do: voiceover, live action, custom character animation or long feature walkthroughs. If you need those, the studios below do.

Video Explainers

Video Explainers sells AI-assisted explainers: one video of up to 60 seconds costs $497 and arrives in 48 hours with two rounds of revisions. Each includes a script, storyboard and voiceover, and a human creative director reviews it. Monthly plans bring the price per video down further.

Breadnbeyond

Breadnbeyond's packages start from $1,000 for one minute of animated explainer, with an extra charge for every 10 seconds beyond it. The price includes script writing, voiceover, graphics, animation, sound effects and background music, and delivery takes 5 to 7 weeks.

B2W

B2W publishes fixed prices per 60-second video: $2,400, $3,500 or $5,500 depending on style, plus $750 to $1,500 for each extra 30 seconds. Every package includes scriptwriting, storyboard, voiceover, animation, sound and two revision rounds at each stage. Delivery takes 2 to 12 weeks.

Wyzowl

Wyzowl's projects start from $2,500, with a typical turnaround of 4 to 6 weeks. Its explainers usually run 60 to 90 seconds, include scripting, illustration, voiceover, animation and sound design, and it doesn't cap the number of revisions.

MyPromoVideos

MyPromoVideos' standard 60-second 2D explainer starts at $5,000, including a custom script, original illustration, professional voiceover, licensed music and two structured revision rounds. Source files are included as standard, which many studios charge extra for.

Kasra Design

Kasra Design publishes prices per 90 seconds by style: $4,000 to $5,000 for whiteboard, $5,000 to $10,000 for 2D, $10,000 to $15,000 for motion graphics and $10,000 to $25,000 for 3D. Projects take 4 to 12 weeks, and each extra revision round adds $300 to $500.

Epipheo

Epipheo says most of its explainer projects cost between $5,000 and $150,000+, depending on style, length and complexity, and that a typical 2D explainer takes five to six weeks. The range is wide: talk to them early about where your project sits.

Demo Duck

Demo Duck works at the top of the market. Its startup page puts animation at $16,000 to $25,000 and live action at $35,000 to $60,000, and its standard schedule for an animated explainer is 8 to 10 weeks, up to 12 in full.

Sandwich

Sandwich mostly makes live-action commercials and launch films. Its own FAQ says $250,000 is a good starting point, and that for a startup it believes in, it can get creative with equity.

How to choose

  • Decide what the video is for. A landing page or launch post needs one short idea; onboarding and sales need a longer walkthrough.
  • Set the budget first. The same 60 seconds costs $99 to $250,000 on this list, and the price mostly reflects how much human production time goes into it.
  • Watch their films, not their claims. A studio's own work is the only reliable preview of yours.
  • Ask what's included: script, voiceover, music, revision rounds, source files and vertical cuts are where quotes differ.

Questions

Common questions

Which explainer video company is best for startups?

It depends on the job and the budget. For a launch or landing-page film this week, HeroReel ($99) or Video Explainers ($497) fit a startup's budget and timeline. For a custom animated explainer, B2W and Wyzowl start around $2,400 to $2,500. Demo Duck has a startup page, but its animation starts at $16,000.

How much do explainer video companies charge?

On this list, from $99 to about $250,000. Most mid-market studios publish $2,400 to $10,000 for a 60- to 90-second animated explainer, premium studios start around $16,000, and live-action launch films cost the most. Our cost guide compares studios, freelancers and DIY tools.

How long do explainer video companies take?

Studios on this list quote 2 to 12 weeks: Wyzowl 4 to 6, Epipheo 5 to 6 for 2D, Breadnbeyond 5 to 7 and Demo Duck 8 to 12. AI-assisted companies are faster: Video Explainers delivers in 48 hours, and HeroReel delivers concepts in a business day and the film 3 business days after you pick.

What should an explainer video company include?

At least a script, the animation or footage, music and sound, and two rounds of changes. Most studios also include a voiceover. Check whether source files, extra length and vertical or square cuts for social are in the price, because that's where quotes differ most.

Is HeroReel an explainer video company?

Yes, for short ones. We make 45- to 60-second concept-led product films from your URL for $99, with vertical and feed cuts, covers and captions. We don't do voiceover, live action or long walkthroughs; for those, a studio from this list is a better fit.
